Today, more than ever, companies need to plan for the future by establishing a corporate energy strategy. Our Energy practice serves energy producing and distributing companies, financial markets participants, major energy consumers, as well as companies manufacturing and designing equipment and solutions for the energy industry.
We have acted for industry participants in relation to various production forms, such as wind power, hydro power and nuclear power, as well as established joint ventures for the development of new and more effective bio-energy solutions.
A substantial part of the Finnish electricity and heat production takes place through so called Mankala companies, which often are jointly owned by several energy companies or major energy consumers, such as companies in the metals and pulp and paper industry. The Mankala companies operate on a zero profit basis, and transfer the energy they produce, at cost, proportionally to their shareholders in accordance with special Mankala-provisions in their articles of association.
Our experience with Mankala structures for various production methods, such as nuclear power, coal power, hydro power and wind power, successfully benefit our clients in the domestic market.
