Kari Reenpää and Hannu Salama. Heikki Borenius Jr. represents Kari Reenpää, managing director of the publishing house Otava, and Kullervo Kemppinen represents writer Hannu Salama in a case relating to Mr Salama’s book “Midsummer Dance” (in Finnish “Juhannustanssit”) which is accused of containing blasphemy. The legal proceedings that start in 1965, take a long time and result in Mr Salama writing a confessing letter and thereby leaving no option for the court but to convict both Mr Salama and Mr Reenpää, even though an acquitting ruling is already on its way. In the end, President Kekkonen pardons Mr Salama and Mr Reenpää.
