Markets in Financial Instruments Directive
The Finnish Government gave its proposal regarding the implementation of the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on markets in financial instruments (MiFID) on 29 June 2007.
The aim of the directive is to integrate the European financial markets by introducing a system in which an operating license granted in one home member state would be valid throughout the European Economic Area. The implementation affects on several acts such as the Act on Investment Firms, the Securities Markets Act, the Act on Trading in Standardized Options and Futures, the Act on Common Funds and a number of other acts covering the functioning of financial markets.
