The Finnish Parliament approved the Government’s proposal for changes to the Finnish laws on industrial rights and copyright on 8 June 2006. The legal amendments will enter into force on 1 September 2006.
By the amendments Finland implements the Directive on measures and procedures
to ensure the enforcement of intellectual property rights 2004/48/EC. The new
laws aim above all at securing access for right holders to information as well
as harmonising sanctions for different intellectual property rights.
