Henriikka Piekkala

Henriikka boasts over two decades of extensive expertise in regulated markets and competition law. Her professional focus involves advising both companies and public entities on intricate legal issues such as abuse of dominant position, cartels, state aid, merger control, and foreign investment control. With a comprehensive understanding of regulatory intricacies, Henriikka possesses substantial knowledge and experience in matters related to telecom, postal, media, and energy regulation and policies, and her proficiency also extends to pricing issues. Henriikka is adept at representing clients before national courts, the European Commission, and the European Court of Justice, handling a spectrum of regulatory and competition-related cases.

Before joining Borenius, Henriikka served as a Legal Counsel for the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority. In this role, she actively contributed to regulatory supervision, legislative reforms, spectrum auctions, and litigation, and represented the Authority before the European Commission, the Independent Regulators’ group, Nordic countries’ cooperation group and Finnish courts, including the Finnish Supreme Administrative Court. Henriikka has also contributed her expertise to the Finnish Competition Authority.
