B&K lawyer Antti Säiläkivi is co-author of a newly written book entitled Osakeyhtiölaki Käytännössä (Companies Act in Practice) (WSOYpro, 2006). Osakeyhtiölaki Käytännössä gives timely and practical guidance to new Finnish Companies Act enacted in September 2006. The revised law is innovative in its attempts to liberalize company law along freedom of contract principles. The book includes recommendations on how to act in certain situations and serves as excellent reference material for in-house lawyers, entrepreneurs and for persons working in company financial management. Mr. Säiläkivi regularly advises companies in various legal questions relating to company law and corporate governance. Other authors of the book are Mr Jukka Mähönen, professor of civil law at the University of Turku and Mr Seppo Villa, professor of company law at Lappeenranta University of Technology.

During autumn 2006 Juhani Erma, Antti Säiläkivi and Andreas Doepel of B&K held various lectures on the revision of the Companies Act and its effects on the day-to-day work of corporate leaders and professional management. These lectures and presentations were addressed, inter alia, to the members of Hallitusammattilaiset ry (the Finnish Association of Professional Board Members), board members of various publicly traded companies as well as professonals working in several commercial and investment banks.
