Borenius Hosted AFME’s Seminar on European High Yield: A Nordic Alternative

We hosted AFME’s seminar on European High Yield on 24 September 2015 at our offices. The seminar discussed differences between the Nordic bonds and European high yield bonds, trends in European high yield and certain distinct issues dealing with Nordic bonds. The panellists represented all parties typically involved in high yield offerings: issuers, investors, bankers, lawyers, rating agencies and auditors. The panels included representatives from such banks as Goldman Sachs, Nordea, SEB, Danske, Pohjola, Evli and Handelsbanken. In addition, Moody’s, PwC, Latham & Watkins, Skadden Arps, Clifford Chance, Roschier, Borenius, AFME, Triton and Paroc were also represented on the panels.

The seminar brought together an audience of nearly 70 people active in the European high yield and Nordic bond markets. Juha Koponen of Borenius moderated the “Nordic bonds and European high yield bonds: a comparison” and “Nordic issues” panel discussions. Specialist partner Niina Nuottimäki participated as a panellist in the “Nordic issues” panel discussion.

The seminar was the first-ever Nordic event for AFME.
