Borenius Strengthens Its Compliance Services – Counsel Hanna Laakso Joins Borenius from Metsä Group

Borenius expands its compliance service offerings by appointing new Counsel Hanna Laakso. The addition to our Corporate Advisory & Compliance practice improves our capabilities to offer tailored advice to our corporate clients on matters  related to corporate governance, compliance and social responsibility.

According to Andreas Doepel, head of the Corporate Advisory & Compliance practice, compliance is increasingly seen as one of the key topics of corporate governance. Doepel also points out that external interest groups continue to require transparency and ethical standard in every aspect of companies’ dealings.

“Compliance is a comprehensive concept, and the task of our Corporate Advisory & Compliance practice is to develop a multidisciplinary approach to compliance and provide specific corporate-level solutions in the form of e.g. compliance programmes, audits and assessments. In addition, we advise and assist corporate clients on their internal investigations and responses in the event that compliance risks are realised,” Doepel continues.

Laakso, former compliance officer of Metsä Group, will join Borenius on 28 April 2016. Laakso brings us her extensive experience of designing and implementing compliance and corporate responsibility programmes at the corporate level, monitoring the effectiveness of those rules, and resolving compliance difficulties as they arise, in a global context. She has also established strong networks among the Finnish compliance officers.
