Purple Is the New Black – Borenius Participates in the IPC’s WeThe15 Campaign Again

Borenius is one of the Finnish Paralympic Committee’s main partners. As part of our longstanding cooperation and partnership, we are thrilled to announce that we are once again participating in WeThe15, a global campaign coordinated by the International Paralympic Committee.

What is WeThe15?

WeThe15 is a decade-long movement launched two years ago that seeks to e.g. put persons with disabilities at the heart of the diversity and inclusion agenda, drive social inclusion for persons with disabilities, and break down societal and systemic barriers that are preventing persons with disabilities from fulfilling their potential and being active members of society.

What does the figure 15 stand for?

The figure 15 refers to the percentage of the global population that lives with a disability. This means that approximately 1.2 billion people, i.e. one in every seven of us, is affected in some way. A more inclusive society is a boon to all of its members, and promoting equality is one of Borenius’ key values.

As part of the campaign, some of our office windows overlooking the Helsinki Market Square will shine a bright purple during the first week in December. Participating in the WeThe15 campaign is another great way to bring awareness to issues affecting persons with disabilities and to contribute to the fight for better inclusion and representation.
