Borenius’ Bolsters its Corporate Finance Capabilities with the Appointment of Mikko Heinonen as Co-Head of Debt Capital Markets

Counsel Mikko Heinonen solidifies Borenius’ leading position in various types of debt financings.

Borenius is pleased to announce that Mikko Heinonen, who is a well-known and highly appreciated figure on the Finnish debt finance market, has joined our talented roster from Roschier. He will be working primarily with our banking & finance practice, but will also have a key role in further developing our debt capital markets practice as a co-head together with Juha Koponen and Niina Nuottimäki.

Mikko is ranked as one of the leading Finnish experts in the banking and finance and the debt capital markets by international legal directories such as Chambers Europe, Chambers Global, and IFLR1000. The most recent Chambers Europe 2018, published yesterday, accolades Mikko as ”a very experienced and skilled lawyer”.

Last year, we advised the arranging banks in the financing of the merger between YIT and Lemminkäinen, which also included a bond consent solicitation procedure. Similarly, in 2017, we advised the arranging banks with Mercada’s secured loan and bond structure, which was a novelty under Finnish law. Currently, we are advising an international bank syndicate on a high-yield issue and revolving credit facility in the financing of a larger LBO.
