Borenius Shortlisted in Four Categories at The Lawyer European Awards 2019

For the fifth year in a row, Borenius is shortlisted in the Nordic law firm of the year category at The Lawyer European Awards. This year we are honoured to be the only firm shortlisted in four categories:

The Nordic Law Firm of the Year will be selected based on strategic vision and consistent excellence in delivery of legal service, among others. In our strategy, we focus on high-value and high-stakes matters as well as clients with the highest expectations. We strive to be the best long-term law firm partner and trusted advisor for our clients.

Last year our Managing Partner Casper Herler received the Highly Commended nomination in the European Managing Partner of the Year category. Herler was one of the two European managing partners that were recognised in this category out of seven shortlisted and over 200 candidates. This year Herler is shortlisted again in the same category.

With regard to the European Corporate Deal of the Year, we advised the Helsinki-listed PKC Group Plc in connection with Mumbai-listed Motherson Sumi Systems Limited’s EUR 571 million recommended public tender. In June 2018, this deal yielded us the prestigious M&A Atlas Award in the Global Deal of the Year category in New York. We are honoured to be recognised for this complex cross-border tender offer at The Lawyer European Awards as well.

The European Competition or Antitrust Deal of the Year award seeks excellence and innovation in deal or case structuring and handling as well as in client service and meeting the clients’ needs. In this respect, our Competition & Public procurement team currently acts as a lead counsel in representing the Finnish Bus and Coach Association and one of the largest Finnish bus companies in the alleged cartel case, which is currently before the Finnish Supreme Administrative Court.

The Lawyer European Awards are hosted annually to celebrate the best practice and excellence across the whole industry, including in-house legal departments, private practice and the Bar, both nationally and internationally. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday 19 March 2019 at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London where the premier European firms will be awarded and recognised for their work.
