Counsel Aksu Tuominen Awarded the Title of Rising Star at the IFLR Europe Awards 2023

We are excited to announce that Counsel Aksu Tuominen has won a Rising Star Award at the IFLR Europe Awards 2023. The awards ceremony was held in London on 3 May 2023.

The IFLR Europe 2023 Awards Jury characterises the rising stars as next generation leaders who have stood out with their work within their respective fields. Aksu joined Borenius in June 2021 as a Senior Associate and was promoted to Counsel the same year as he had held key roles in many of our 2021 IPOs. In addition to transactions, Aksu regularly works with many of our issuer clients on listed company disclosure matters.

Aksu has over a decade of experience in advising issuers, underwriters, shareholders, and other key stakeholders on international and domestic capital markets transactions. He is well-known by investment banks, communications agencies, Finnish regulators, and Big4 IPO teams working on Finnish debt and equity issuances.

Clients and stakeholders appreciate Aksu’s dynamic, innovative, and solution-oriented approach. As a former Finnish-English translator, he also has excellent language skills and a genuine interest in linguistics. Aksu has a global view to the law firm business, and since joining Borenius, he has played an active role in expanding the firm’s professional network in London through our representative office.

Aksu sees this recognition as a solid indication of Borenius’ values and positive atmosphere, which is based on a strong commitment to nurturing and supporting future talent.

“I am so thrilled to have received this recognition. Borenius has a great Capital Markets team and a no-nonsense attitude towards work, and the firm’s international atmosphere is a boon. I can honestly say that I am in my dream job, and I believe that this is also conveyed to our clients,” says Aksu.
