Meri Tirkkonen

Meri advises our clients on a wide range of matters related to intellectual property and technology, as well as commercial disputes in court proceedings and arbitration. She has considerable expertise in intellectual property and patent litigation within the pharmaceutical and technology sectors. She frequently assists clients in all types of proceedings, including preliminary injunctions, patent infringement and invalidity actions, contractual disputes, employee invention disputes, and damages claims.

In addition to her contentious work, Meri specialises in pharmaceutical regulatory matters, providing guidance on compliance and regulatory requirements. She has also been involved in M&A transactions, conducting due diligence and advising on intellectual property, IT, and commercial contract related matters.

Meri joined Borenius as an Associate in 2023, and before that she worked at the firm as a trainee. Meri has also gained legal experience as a trainee at another Finnish business law firm. In addition to her studies at the University of Turku, Meri has studied law at the University of Verona, Italy.

Meri is currently on rotation in our Dispute Resolution team.
