She has acted in numerous arbitration proceedings under the rules of leading institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), and the Finland Arbitration Institute (FAI), handling matters involving multi-jurisdictional parties and complex contractual arrangements.
Her dispute resolution practice encompasses a broad range of sectors and dispute types. She has expertise in project delivery disputes, including construction and infrastructure projects. Vilma has also developed experience in investment disputes, advising clients on matters involving shareholder agreements, joint ventures, and cross-border transactions. Within the energy sector, Vilma has been involved in disputes relating to renewable energy projects, especially wind farm development projects as well as traditional energy infrastructure and supply agreements.
Vilma has gained experience in advising clients on ad hoc pre-dispute situations and dispute avoidance strategies in demanding and time-pressured circumstances. She provides pragmatic, commercial advice to clients facing potential disputes, helping them navigate complex contractual relationships, assess legal risks, and develop strategies to prevent disputes from escalating.
In addition to her commercial dispute resolution work, Vilma provides advice on contentious employment law matters and represents clients in corporate crime matters, including investigations and proceedings involving allegations of economic offences, work safety matters, environmental violations, regulatory breaches, and white-collar crime. She advises companies and individuals on compliance issues, internal investigations, and defence strategies in criminal proceedings and provides advice on the duties and liabilities of corporate organs and directors.
