Borenius acted as local counsel in Finland and Lithuania to Intersnack in its acquisition of Estrella Maarud

We acted as the local counsl to Intersnack Group GmbH & Co KG (“Intersnack”) in its acquisition of the salted snacks manufacturer Estrella Maarud from Herkules Private Equity Fund II (“Herkules”). Estrella Maarud is a leading manufacturer and supplier of branded salted snacks in the Nordic and Baltic countries, including brands, such as Maarud (number 1 in Norway), Estrella (number 1 or 2 in Sweden, Finland and the Baltics) and Taffel (challenger in Denmark). Manufacturing facilities are located in Disenå (Norway), Angered (Sweden) and Kaunas (Lithuania) with headquarters in Oslo. In 2013, Estrella Maarud had an annual turnover of EUR 130 million and employs approximately 430 people.

Intersnack is a pan-European Group in the salted snack business. Last year, the Group achieved a turnover of EUR 2 billion, employing more than 8,000 people.
