Borenius advised Taaleritehdas in forming a new type of windpower fund

We advised Taaleritehtaan Pääomarahastot Oy, an alternative investment fund manager, as it set up a new fund investing in windpower projects.

What makes the fund exceptional is a new type of feeder fund structure: smaller investors, subject to a minimum investment of EUR €10,000, may invest in windpower projects by subscribing profit-participating loans issued by a feeder fund which will become one of the investors in the master windpower fund.

The loans are subject to a maximum of EUR 30 million, whereas the master fund targets to raise €EUR 70-90 million. With leverage, subject to a maximum of 80%, the investment capacity of the fund will be more than that.
