Our Office Shines Orange to Support UN Women’s Campaign Against Violence Toward Women

This week, our office windows are illuminated in orange as part of UN Women’s Orange the World (Oranssit päivät) campaign, which aims to prevent violence against women. The campaign’s signature color, orange, symbolises hope for a future free from violence, and iconic landmarks around the globe are lit in orange to raise awareness. The campaign kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

Orange the World campaign highlights issues of violence against women and girls, including domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, child marriage, and digital abuse. Research shows that Finland is the most unsafe country for women in the EU – up to 57% of women have experienced physical violence, sexual violence, or threats of violence, and 54% have faced sexual harassment in the workplace.

We want to help build a world where violence has no place. Ending violence is possible, but it requires political will, resources, and legislation to eliminate and prevent violence, as well as accessible, survivor-centered services for those affected.
