Jarkko Kontiainen

Jarkko is an Associate in Borenius’ EU & Competition team based in the Helsinki office. He advises clients on a broad range of EU and competition law matters, with a particular focus on antitrust, merger control, abuse of dominance, cartel investigations and foreign direct investment (FDI) screening. He also assists clients in developing and implementing competition law compliance programmes and provides competition law training.

Before joining Borenius, Jarkko worked at the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA), where he specialised in cartel investigations and unannounced inspections (dawn raids). He has also gained experience in private practice at another leading law firm and a Big Four firm, where he worked on M&A and real estate transactions.

Jarkko holds a Master of Laws degree and has completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Economics for Competition Law at King’s College London.
