About Teemu

Teemu advises leading domestic and international companies on complex, high-value commercial disputes before Finnish courts and in international arbitration, including proceedings under the ICC and FAI Rules. He represents clients in significant disputes that can shape a company’s future, combining strong dispute resolution skills with transactional and judicial experience.

Before focusing on dispute resolution, Teemu advised private equity firms and strategic clients on large domestic and cross-border transactions. This experience is particularly valuable in disputes arising from M&A and other transactions, as he understands how deals are structured and negotiated, quickly identifies the commercial drivers behind contested provisions, and develops effective legal strategies around this knowledge.

Teemu also brings valuable judicial and in-house experience to his practice. Early in his career, Teemu served as a Trainee District Judge at the District Court of Itä-Uusimaa, presiding over civil and criminal cases, gaining first-hand insight into judicial reasoning and case management. He now applies that experience to structure arguments and anticipate how courts and tribunals assess complex disputes.

Teemu further broadened his perspective as a visiting in-house lawyer at Helsinki Shipyard, a global leader in Arctic shipbuilding, where he worked closely with business teams on complex commercial operations and developed a practical understanding of how legal risk shapes business decisions. He now draws on this experience to ensure that legal strategy is driven by the business realities clients face: what is commercially at stake and what outcomes genuinely matter.

In addition to post-transaction disputes, Teemu advises on corporate disputes, commercial and contractual claims, and white-collar crime proceedings and related investigations. He has represented clients across a range of sectors, including infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, shipbuilding, banking and finance, and domestic and cross-border M&A.
