We advised Lifeline Ventures on its application for full authorisation as an alternative investment fund manager. Lifeline’s management company LLV Fund Management Oy had previously operated as a registered alternative investment fund manager – like many other Finnish venture capital and private equity firms – and it obtained the full authorisation from the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority in January 2023.
Established in 2009, Lifeline invests in approximately 10 startups annually, and it has invested in over 120 companies so far. Lifeline generally invests in the angel and seed stages, and it is often the first institutional investor to back a startup. Initial investments range from EUR 150.000 to EUR 2 million. Lifeline’s track record includes investments in Iceye, Applifier and Smartly.io as well as unicorns Supercell, Oura, Wolt and Aiven.
