New Partner to Borenius’ Capital Markets & Public M&A Team
We have invited Mia Mokkila to join our partnership as of 29 March 2022. Mia will work as a Partner within our Capital Markets & Public M&A team alongside with the team’s head, Partner Juha Koponen. Mia will also act as the head of our Corporate Advisory team, which mainly advises publicly listed companies on securities and corporate law as well as on corporate governance questions.

Mia’s appointment emphasises our commitment to being deeply involved in high stakes mandates involving Finnish listed companies.”
For the past 15 years of her career, Mia has specialised in public company advisory. She is particularly experienced in handling listed company transactions that involve complex securities and corporate law aspects, such as public tender offers and mergers of listed companies. Mia also frequently provides insider, disclosure, and governance advice to listed companies. She has served twice as a secretary of the Helsinki Takeover Code revision workgroup in 2013 and 2021–2022 (pending).
We believe that, over the next few years, we will be seeing a growing number of arrangements between public companies, due to how active the Finnish IPO market has been in the previous years. In addition to transactional work, this will no doubt bring us more advisory work in relation to inside information and disclosure questions. Our recent public M&A references include our representation of Netflix, Inc. on the pending takeover of Next Games Corporation. In 2021, we acted as Finnish counsel for West Street Global Infrastructure Partners on the public takeover of Adapteo Plc, a Finnish company listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.
