About Joonas
Joonas advises our clients on assignments related to technology, data protection, and intellectual property. He also works with growth companies across several sectors, providing guidance on corporate and intellectual property issues, as well as privacy matters and commercial agreements.
Joonas specialises in emerging regulatory frameworks, including the EU AI Act, the Data Act, the Cyber Resilience Act and the NIS2 Directive. He is also frequently involved in M&A transactions, where he addresses data protection, contractual, and regulatory considerations. During his secondment at UPM, he delved into data protection issues in AI projects and supported day-to-day privacy tasks.
Joonas joined Borenius as an Associate in 2024, and before that, he worked as a trainee at the firm. He has also gained legal experience as a trainee at a multinational listed company and at another Finnish business law firm.
