We advised Aberdeen Standard Investments on the acquisition of Sanoma’s former headquarters from the publicly listed Sanoma Corporation. The buyer was Aberdeen’s Luxembourg-domiciled property fund. The property has a total area of 13,900 sqm, and it is located in the central business district of Helsinki at address Ludviginkatu 2–10.
In addition to performing legal due diligence and negotiating on the transaction documents, Borenius also negotiated on the financing documents and on a service agreement, pursuant to which Sanoma agreed to carry out certain construction work on the property. We also provided tax advice in relation to the acquisition and reviewed a lease agreement concluded with the main tenant, the Helsingin Sanomat Foundation.
