Aksu Tuominen Promoted to Counsel

We are excited to announce that Aksu Tuominen from our Capital Markets team has been promoted to Counsel as of 1 January 2022.

”Borenius has a market leading IPO practice and we worked on nine completed listings in 2021. Aksu is one of those guys whom you would want to have on your deal team as he is on top of all aspects of the deal without losing the sight of the big picture. This is a very well deserved promotion and underlines his importance to the Finnish IPO market,” comments Head of Capital Markets, Partner Juha Koponen.

Aksu advises our clients on capital markets transactions, such as initial public offerings, rights offerings and debt offerings. In addition to capital markets work, Aksu is familiar with new regulation related to sustainability and sustainable investing. Aksu also has an active role in promoting our international offices, both in London and New York. In addition to his legal degree, Aksu holds an MBA and a Master of Arts degree.

Aksu joined us in June 2021 and immediately took a key role in one of the most exciting Finnish IPOs of the year when Borenius assisted Modulight Corporation, a Tampere-based biomedical laser company, on its September 2021 EUR 90.9 million IPO to Nasdaq First North Growth Market Finland. Seppo Orsila, CEO of Modulight Corporation describes Aksu as ”one of the driving forces behind our hugely successful IPO.” Orsila also says:

”In addition to solid legal expertise, I particularly appreciated Aksu’s high-spririted attitude and active approach. Everyone in the Modulight laser family loves to work with Aksu.”

Aksu Tuominen enthuses on his nomination:

”I am thrilled to reach this important milestone in my professional career. Borenius has a great Capital Markets team with a wonderful spirit and a can-do attitude. In addition, I am truly happy to contribute to the development of our London and NYC offices, which is super interesting!”

Congratulations, Aksu!
