Anni Jäälinoja

Senior Associate

My Borenius career began in January 2013 when I was accepted to Borenius as a part-time Junior Trainee, who assisted other staff on daily tasks around the office. I continued working as a Junior Trainee for over two and a half years, and in 2015, after earning the required amount of study credits, I took another step on my career path. I became a part-time Knowledge Management (KM) Trainee and assisted Borenius' lawyers on conducting legal research. After I completed my one-year KM traineeship, I moved to another business law firm where I worked as an associate trainee for a few months. When the opportunity presented itself, however, I decided to apply for a full-time Associate Trainee position on Borenius' IP & Technology team and returned to Borenius at that time. In 2017, after I had worked as an Associate Trainee for a few months, I was offered the position of Associate. I happily accepted the offer, and in the spring of 2018, after I had completed my studies, I was formally appointed as Associate to Borenius' IP & Technology team. My next career opportunity arose in the autumn of 2021. I was offered the opportunity to spend a few months on secondment working in the legal department of one of our clients, and in 2022, after four years as an Associate, I was promoted to the position of Senior Associate and admitted to the Finnish Bar. To this day, I continue to work as an attorney on Borenius' IP & Technology team.

Tatu Seppäniemi

Associate Trainee

I began my career at Borenius in October 2018 in the position of a part-time Junior Trainee. During my traineeship, I got well acquainted with the daily life of a large law firm. In the spring of 2020, I moved on to the position of a Restructuring and Insolvency Trainee. During my time on Borenius' R&I team, I gained valuable experience in insolvency related matters as I assisted the firm's lawyers in various bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings. A couple of years later, in February 2022, I was offered the position of an Associate Trainee on Borenius' Banking and Finance team, which is where I'm still working. All in all, our trainee positions provide a superb chance to get familiar with business law and everyone that works at Borenius. I highly recommend our trainee programmes to all law students looking to improve their skills and knowledge in the field.
