Borenius advised Fingrid Oyj on an ICT procurement project with CGI

We advised Fingrid Oyj on an ongoing ICT procurement project with CGI to set up a national Datahub for the electricity market in Finland.

The Datahub will be a centralised information exchange system for the Finnish electricity retail market, which will be used to exchange data required for invoicing and other related procedures within the market. The Datahub will contain personal data of all electricity customers in Finland. In addition, the Datahub will serve as a blueprint for data sharing within industries for the future data economy.

We have assisted Fingrid on the preparation of a data protection impact assessment related to the Datahub and provided assistance in relation to the privacy structuring of the test and launch phases of the Datahub. Furthermore, we have prepared service agreement drafts for various different Datahub user segments. Both the data protection impact assessment and the structuring of the test and launch phases of the Datahub were extensive in scope and significance.

Fingrid Oyj is Finland’s transmission system operator. It is owned by the Finnish state and Finnish pension insurance companies. Fingrid’s mission is to secure the supply of energy in the Finnish society in all circumstances and to promote a clean, market-based power system.
