Borenius’ Real Estate team advises investors, developers, owners and other parties on all real estate -related legal questions. Our team has extensive experience in acquisitions and sales of individual properties and real estate portfolios, including sale and lease-back, development, leasing and related financing and security issues.
Development and redevelopment projects draw on our strong experience in construction, environmental matters, zoning and land use. We are well known for our practical way of working in real estate development projects, and we are used to working with all relevant parties involved; developers, investors, users, municipalities and authorities. We are familiar with different financing structures used in development project transactions; Forward Funding, Forward Commitment, Joint Venture and different Special Vehicles.
We also advise construction clients and contractors in planning and negotiating construction projects and carrying out projects during the construction period up and until handover and final settlement of accounts.
Our Real Estate team works in close co-operation with Borenius’ Fund Formation team, which gives us an excellent understanding in real estate investments and exits carried out by real estate funds. Taxation is often an important factor in our projects as well, and our tax lawyers often participate in real estate transactions to ensure that transaction and holding structures are tax-efficient for all parties.
Since real estate business, inevitably, sometimes faces disputes, we regularly advise and represent our clients in dispute resolution, both in-court-procedures and out of court settlements.
We also support our clients in everyday corporate real estate matters, such as lease agreements, maintenance agreements, and agreements and regulatory matters regarding renovations and other construction works.
